He is a member of the Chamberof Commerce and was clerk of the high school board for five years. In 1891 C. R. Nutt was united in marriage with Minnie Bond, a native of Mass-achusetts. She was one of the organizers of the Womens Club of Huntington Beachand served as its first secretary. This union has been blessed with two children:Helen, who is now Mrs. Fountain of Los Angeles; and Charles R., Jr., who for fiveyears has been a musician in Headquarters Company, First Infantry, U. S. Army,having the rank of corporal. Fraternally Mr. Nutt is a member of Huntington BeachLodge No. 380, F. & A. M.; also of Huntington Beach Lodge No. 183, I. O. , and is secretary of the Huntington Beach L-odge of Modern Woodmen of HISTORY OF ORANGE COUNTY 1177 HENRY LAE.—A native son of Orange County, of French parentage.
