A quest for a 'Miss ' who will be elected by a popular vote, crowned with a golden tiara, and sent regally to Sydney has been launched by the Patriotric Fund Committee. The winner will have Sydney at her feet for a fortnight - boxes at the theatre, furs, flowers, luxurious clothes, a splendidly uniformed chauffeur. Already six girls have been nominated for the exciting prize. Many more are expected before voting begins. Yesterday the entertainments committee of the patriotic fund stated :- Nominations will be accepted from any club, firm, public body, society, industry, association, or group of persons in the state. We will supply forms at our City Hall Office. The regal trip to Sydney for the queen who will be crowned in the City Hall with a tiara studded with Queensland jewels will be arranged to suit the convenience of the winner and she will be able to select any friend whom she wishes to accompany her. Nominations Girls nominated are :- Mrs. Dorothy Hallett, Short Street, Redbank - nominated by soldiers of Redbank camp. Miss Ella Parr, University Road, Mitchelton - Enoggera District Soldiers' Welfare Fund. Miss Audrey Court, Union Street, Toowong - one of the city's best known amateur actresses, selected by the Student Theatre. Miss Margaret Ward - Loyal Annerley Lodge of the Miss Dorothy Simpson, Junction Street, Sherwood - Blue and White Cabs Ltd. Miss Mavis Nama, Harrowgate Stret, Buranda - Buranda Social Club.
