Port Clyde's Marshall Point Lighthouse is one of many that dot the coastline of Maine, USA

The Port Clyde Lighthouse is a 31 foot brick tower with a granite base. It sets still as a beacon for Maine's rocky coastline. The lighthouse is a prime object for artist and photographers. The immediate area can be thick with tripods and easels on at summer's sunset. Built in 1823, refurbished in 1857 and automated in 1981, the lighted beacon now houses a 300mmplastic optic. Andrew Wyeth, an artist, had a studio in this area
