SPRING CATALOGUE OF SEEDS, BULBS AND PLANTS FOR 1897. NEW 5TRiP£D^J)J> Pop G°pi}- Here's something for the boys and girls. Did you ever see a youngster that did not enjoy popping corn and watch- ing the hard little kernels burst suddenly out into balls of white; light as a feather, and deliciously sweet and tooth- some? (iive every boy or girl a row of Pop Corn for his or her own. The sweet little misses like the pretty sorts, the boys like those that bear the most. Then, with nuts and apples, games to play and corn to pop, our little folks will pass away the long winter evenings with mirth and happi- ness at home, rather than on the streets. The following sorts are mostly new and of greatly improved quality: California Col den—Beautiful little golden ears but two or three inches long, and crowded with little pointed grains that pop out large, light and snowy white. Often used for Christmas decoration, both the little golden ears and the white popped corn strung on long strings I festooning. Pkt., 10c; 3 pkts., 25c. Map- dale Prolific—This is the Pop Corn for profit. The stn 'is bear the almost incredible number of 10 to 30 ears to \ch stalk, while the quality is very fine. Pkt., 10c; yinr. 40c; quart, 75c. Colde. Tom Thumb—This Pop Corn only grows 18 inches higl and the dainty little ears are only two inches long with smooth, golden-yellow kernels in regular rows. This little toy corn is not only very pretty, but it pops beau"-fully white and large, and isverv crisp and tender. Its compact growth fit it for city or village lots, where land is reckoned by the foot, not by the acre. Golden Tom Thumb grows quickly and ripens its crop by the first of August.
