Their intention was to occupy the airport for 48 hours with permission only granted to the airport entrance. One official group occupied the main airport entrance and, one unofficial group occupied part of Schiphol Plaza. With a heavy police presence both mounted and unmounted numerous arrests were made. The campaigner’s, expect a much better climate policy for air traffic from the government, as present guidelines for CO2 emissions are considered far too small and, in addition -the government plans to increase the number of flights from Schiphol by forty-thousand. © Charles M Vella/Alamy Live News
