Wood and straw broom used in clean up efforts after the Baltimore Riots of 2015 at North and Pennsylvania Avenues. On 12 April 2015, police officers arrested Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old African American resident of Baltimore, Maryland. His neck and spine were injured while he was in a police vehicle and he went into a coma. Protests were held in front of the Western district police station on 18 April. Gray's death the next day triggered further protests. The broom has a straw head attached to a wooden handle with wire. The handle is gray.
