The South Downs Way above Rodmell in East Sussex looking towards the east. Although this image was taken early in August 2020 much of the wheat harvest had already been taken and the downs were getting an autumnal feel to them. The South Downs way is one of the UKs long distance footpaths. This path stretches from Eastbourne in the east to Winchester in the west, some 160 km (100 miles approx.) Much of it follows old ridge routes across the chalk hills known as "Downs".
