A little girl in traditional dress skips past Llama fat in stalls to be sold for use in sacrifices to pachamama, mother earth. In August the majority of Aymaran Bolivians burn a mesa, the sacrificial offering to the pachamama, mother earth goddess, so that she will bless them with good fortune in their endeavours and relationships and health. The mesa contains llama wool, a dessicated llama foetus or fat, coca leaves, often fruits and is burned with the ashes buried afterwards for the mother earth.
