The swan uppers gather outside the Weir pub ahead of a week long survey of the the swans on the River Thames between Sunbury in Surrey and Abingdon in Oxfordshire. The Royal Swan Uppers, who wear the scarlet uniform of Her Majesty The Queen, travel in traditional rowing skiffs together with Swan Uppers from the Vintners’ and Dyers’ livery companies.
