First flights from Carlisle Lake District Airport postponed. Work continues on the new airport terminal building. Just days away from the departure of the for commercial flight from the airport since the 1980's, the services operated by Scottish airline Loganair have been postponed until September. Stobart Group who are behind the project announced today that a "growing global shortage of qualified air traffic control staff available to meet training and regulatory deadlines" has meant scheduled flights will not lift off until September : 29 May 2018 STUART WALKER Stuart Walker Photography 2018
