New York City, USA: IN A HOMAGE of Britain’s legendary Stonehenge gatherings New Yorkers flocked to witness the Sun as it set on the final “Manhattanhenge” of 2016. Pictures show how sun worshippers stood awe-struck as the blazing sun slowly descended between the towers of 42nd Street – known to local New Yorkers as the very heart of their city. This solar event occurs just twice a year when the sun cuts east to west exactly across the streets of Manhattan. The last was seen on May 28th this year. NYC photographer Peter Alessandria described the scene.
