It grows 5 to 7 feet high, and is covered for six weeks with immense yellow flowers so double as to look like balls of gold 3 inches in diameter. It is very fine as a cut-flower ; should be in every garden. Strong, field-grown plants, 15 cts. each, $ per doz. — nitida. Resembles R. laciniata, but has much longer cone in center of flower. 12 cts. each, 90 cts. per doz. — speciosa. A dwarf species, with large, pale yellow flowers. 15c. each, $1 per doz. — fulgida. 2 feet high, with deep yellow flowers with purple center ; fine. 15 cts. each, $1 per doz. Solidago Canadensis. This is the earli- est of the Goldenrods, blooming here in July. The panicles of flowers have the true Goldenrod shape. 12 cts. each, 90 cts. per doz. — odora. A little later than the last. Flow- ers deep, rich yellow, in good-shaped pani- cles ; foliage has the fragrance of anise. 10 cts. each, 75 cts. per doz. — tenuifolia. 2 feet high, with flat-topped cymes of yellow flowers ; very distinct. 10 cts. each, 75 cts. per doz. — nemoralis. One of the best; has the typical Goldenrod flowering, and blooms very profusely. 10 cts. each, 75c. per doz. — sempervirens. Probably the most showy of the genus.
