The illustration on page1 of this pamphlet is from a photograph of a [head of this varietv grown near Atlanta bv one of our cus-tomers. The illustration shows its fine shape, solidity and scarcity of loose outside leaves. The All-Hee^d is an extra early strain of the Flat Dutch and of Long Island origin and thoroughlv adaptedto all parts of the South both for fall and spring planting. Heads of medium size, weighing usuallv from 5 to 7pounds, perfectly round and well flattened on top. Stems rather short; growth very compact with solid heads. Itstands shipment well where not on the road over one week. Color a rich shade of glossv green, which holds wellduring shipment. This variety is several days earlier than the Early Summer and is a very desirable variety bothfor market and home EARLY A standard variety throughout the South. A rathersmall, early, flat, round variety, coming to maturity sometwo weeks later than Jersey Wakefield. Uniform in sizeand shape: round, flattened and solid. Outer leaves smalland will stand close planting. Stands long distance ship-ments well, holding its freshness and color and is equallyvaluable for near-by markets and home use. EARLY DWARF FLAT DUTCH. An old-time favorite in the South both for market andhome use. Slightly larger than Early Summer, a few dayslater, not quite as uniform in size and shape. The Amer-ican grown seed of this variety, however, makes a much bet-ter head than the European grown. As a shipping crop thisvariety has beeu largely superseded by varieties such asSuccession, All-Head, Solid South, etc., which are better forthat purpose. For near-by markets and home use thisvariety will be largely planted for years to come, as it is afairly sure cropping variety. Summer. PRE
