The White Tower Pleasure Beach Casino, in the background of the view, is a Grade 2 Listed einforced concrete listed building, dating to 1937-40 and designed in the International Modern Style by Joseph Emberton for Leonard Thompson, owner of the Pleasure Beach. Despite its name the Casino, rather than gambling, houses a restaurant and other catering facilities. In the foreground, illuminated Frigate Tram (Tram 736 'HMS Blackpool') is seen picking up Illumination Tour passengers at the South Shore Turning Circle, across the promenade from the Pleasure Beach Casino.
