Therock, which certainly bore some resemblance to certainvolcanic formations, was composed of the same fer-ruginous laterite that I had seen in blocks of varioussizes in the neighbourhood of Molundu. In the furthest corner of this open space I foundnumerous spoors of both elephants and buffaloes. Itwas very late, close upon sunset, before the last of thecarriers reached camp.
