May 2Z, 1917. In October of this year he saw the U. S. TransportAntilles sunk. After transport service Conley was transferred to the U. Aviation detachment at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology asa chief quartermaster. He was returned to duty afloat in November, 1918,and was relieved from active duty February 15, 1919.
