These were Shirley poppies at the seed farms of James Vick's Sons, in the vicinity of Eochester, N. Y. This was one of several good fields of poppies which the firm had this season. To the left of the field of poppies are annual larkspurs and just beyond the latter can be had a glimpse of a field of pansy violet.
