Clifton Suspension Bridge
The Clifton Suspension Bridge is a toll bridge for traffic and pedestrians. It spans the high Avon Gorge and River Avon. It connects Clifton area of Bristol to Leigh Woods in North Somerset. The bridge was opened in 1864, and was designed by William Henry Barlow and John Hawkshaw based on an earlier design by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
