The market is brisk and there is a good outlook for Easter business. Stock of all kinds is to be had at a low price, which is not always the case shortly before a holiday. The retailers report a good week in funeral work, which helped to take care of most of the cheaper stock, but fancy stock does not bring the price it should. Eoses still arrive in large enough quantities to take care of the demand, the most popular varieties being Pre- mier, Madame Butterfly and Columbia. Crusader seems to be of inferior grade, because the stem is weak and the flow- ers small. Carnations are, as usual, holding their own and the same can be said of sweet peas. Bulbous stock continues to arrive in large quantities, especially daf- fodils. March 19 it seemed that every available conveyance brought outdoor daffodils to the market. Consequently, there was a glut and the price was low. Lilies, both Harrisii and calla, are to be had without any trouble and are moving fairly well at $15 to $20 per hundred. Other stock, including snapdragons, ca- lendulas, mignonette and daisies, is available in quantity. Various Notes. C. E. Critchell reports a large week in supplies and southern smilax. Some supplies were shipped as far as Cali- fornia. Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Gillett have re- turned from the south, where they have been for the last month with their nephew, Clarence Ohmer, at West Palm Beach, Fla. Mr. Gillett reports a won- derful trip and business through the south fairly brisk
