Except at the best hotels, there is either no bedding or thereis the chance of its being dirty. The minimum equipment is a pillowand two cotton-wadded quilts {Razais), one to sleep on, and one whichshould be larger, as a coverlet; or a good razai and a couple of warmblankets, or still better, an eider-down. The ready-made razais areusually thin, but they can be got to order of any thickness. Tothese should be added a pillow-case, cheap calico sheets, and a lightblanket. A canvas or waterproof cover to wrap the bedding in mustnot be omitted, or the first time it is carried any distance by a coolie. \ND\A-RAINFALL AVERAGE RAINFALL DUR NG THE DRY SEASON MARCH TO MAY INCLUSIVE Ra nfal n nches
