WHITE COCHIN BANTAMS White Cochin Bantams ol very good form and color arebred by a number of Bantam experts. They are quite wqUfeathered, and as a class average better in general Cochincharacteristics than the other varieties; the chief difficultyis the tendency of the males to turn yellow in color. Thisfault can be bred out of them by using as breeders birds hav-ing a perfectly white shaft In their feathers. This mayhave a tendency to whiten the color of leg and beak, butbetter this fault than yellow plumage. It is said by experts that the purest white specimens. THE BANTAM 29. Partridge Cochin Bantam Feather, showing Full Fluff as it should be. when first hatched, show a sootyshade of color. This grayish coloris said to promise better colorwhen matured than the yellowcfliSt. Of this we cannot say fromexperience, but we know thalt ifpure white to the slsin whenhatched, they will mature to abeautiful pearly white. TheWhites, we believe, will becomethe banner Bantam of them all. In many cases the White andBlack specimens far excel theBuffs in true Oochin , like all but the Buffs, camefromacross with their larger cous-ins, and carry tlie Cochin shape,none but the Buffs having sufferedin shape and feather by the cross with Nankin and WhiteBooted Bantams.
