He was a sonof (Jualles and Lucy (Warren) Banfield. both of old Tennessee these parents grew to maturity, were educated in the old-time schoolsand there were married and established their home. The father devotedhis life to farnung and stock raising, first in his native state, remaining thereuntil 1846. when he moved his family to Alissouri, his son Lewis F., of thismemoir, being then a }ear old.
