He will, in like manner, endeavour to gain a knowledge of what kind of ikins may be pur- chafed, and if thofe of the otter, which bear the hlgheft value in Afia, where they are much fought after, be the mofl common in America. He will take care to bring to France fpecimens of all the different furs, which he may have been able to procure: and as he will have occafion in the courfe of his voyage to put into Chma, and perhaps to touch at Japan, what fpecies of fkins in thefe two empires have the mofl eafy, mofl certain, and moll lucrative fale, and what be- nefit France might promife itfelf from this branch of commerce.
