Low tide at Kimmeridge Bay


Low tide at Kimmeridge Bay, Dorset, a World Heritage Site, reveals a seashore rich in fossils from the Jurassic period. At the base of Hen Cliff in the distance is the fishermen's boat houses and Dorset Wildlife Marine Centre. The red flag denotes live firing at the nearby Lulworth Tank Ranges, operated by the British Army, and is a warning to mariners to keep keep their vessels out of the restricted danger zones.
