Precipitation, mostly in the form of rain, totaled Inches, nearly 3-1/2 Inches above normal. This was the wettest JantJary since 1979 and 4th wettest in our records. There was measurable precipitation on 12 days, with Inches on the 26-27th as the greatest storm. There was only 1 inch of snow for the month. NOVA SCOTIA our January weather was highly variable with extremely cold weather on the nights of the 7th and 15th. Unusually warn weather occurred on the 27th and 28th. As a consequence, nearly all of our snow cover was absent as of the 28th. Oxygen content of water surrounding vines should be adequate, but any exposed vines have probably suffered winter Injury. We had a moderate snow cover of approximately 30 cm through Feb. 19 and temperatures remained quite steady. Otherwise, things have been quite uneventful.
