Jony, a military working dog with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), arrives with his handler, Marine Corps Cpl. Patrick Lobitz, K9 handler, 22nd MEU, aboard the USS Bataan (LHD 5), off the East Coast, during the Amphibious Ready Group/MEU exercise, Oct. 26, 2013. ARG/MEU Ex is the second stage of the MEU’s at-sea period. The MEU is scheduled to deploy in early 2014 to the 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group as a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious missions across the full range of military operations.
