A similar subject treated very much in the samemanner, except that the Saviour is without a wand, is tobe seen depicted on the vault of a chapel in the Catacombsof Sa. Agnese ; also in the Basilica of Petronilla (Bull.,vol. iv, pi. i, ii.) Again on a sarcophagus in the Gregorian Museumthe Saviour represented beardless, and holding a glass also, as figured by Buonarroti, &c. Othervariations exist of this probable symbol of the Resurrec-tion, but I am not aware of its occurrence upon gems orring
