The programme has been has been a great success and is seen as being a vital means of keeping traditional Indian [ ie Hindu] culture alive. This is so since many of the boys will return to their villages and impart the skills and knowledges they have learned. Although their is an emphasis on the traditional [eg. study Sanskrit] the boys also receive training in computers and girls are also accepted although they do not occupy the same status. In his address the Swami Chidanand Saraswati President and Spiritual Head of the of PN commented in that these days of recession and global disquiet the yogis can really show their specialness for while world markets may go up and down thanks to their training and the self control it imbues in them they remain calm, balanced and happy. In the festival program he went onto say that yoga wasnt simply 'for the hamstrings ' but through its practise 'you would attain eternal bliss, peace and liberation
