Egypt, The temple of Karnak is actually three main temples plus smaller enclosed temples and several other temples about three miles north of Luxor. It is the largest Temple complex ever built by man and no site is more impressive. It was at its apex in the reign of Akhenaten and dedicated to the god Amun. Picture shows the Lotus bud capitals of a group of pillars that form the great courtyard of Amun-Ofis III.
