MELCHEZJDEKPRIESTHOOD By ELDER DOUGLAS MEIKLEN 4th Quorum of E?der», New Zealand South Mission EVERYTHING TO GOD IN PRAYER M., 1960 What a friend zee have in Jesus, All our sins and grief to a privilege to carry, Everything to God in , zvhat peace zee often forfeit, Oh, what needless pain we bear,All because we do not carry, Everything to God in prayer. PRAYER is the act whereby thewill of the Father and the will ofthe child are brought into corres-pondence with each other. The objectof prayer is not to change the will ofGod, but to secure for ourselves andothers blessings that the Lord is will-ing to grant, but which are made con-ditonal on our asking for them. The Prophet Joseph Smith prayedfor guidance from our Father as towhich church he should join; theprayer was answered and we knowthe results of it. When praying weshould be humble. When asking forguidance we should be prepared toaccept the answer given. We shouldnot pray that it will be answered
