For, it was a fort of mi-litary Election, which might have ferved him for founda-tion to pretend to the Crown, though he had no othertitle. Mean while, he was embarrafTed by the uncertaintyhe was under, whether he mould keep to this Election,or found his title upon a more folid foundation. He washowever, to determine without delay, either to reject thetitle given him by his Army, till the Parliament fliouldconfirm it, or accept it, and aftert his Right independentlyof the confent of the Eftates.
