Portsmouth Hampshire Thursday 17th December 215 Hampshire Constabulary and Paramedics have successfully talked down a man who was threatening to jump off a bridge on the top of M275 at junction 1 in Portsmouth this evening. The M275 Motorway over section was closed in both directions by police and diversion put in place after the man was seen on the wrong side of the bridge's railings at about on Wednesday night. Police officers stood guard and closed the underpass on the Rudmore roundabout whilst a Police negotiator spoke to the distressed man for a number of hours, who successfully stop the man from harming himself. The unnamed man climbed back over the railing and was walked an awaiting ambulance at just after this morning. Traffic was being diverted on both the entry and exit slip roads at the M275’s junction South Central Ambulance “ HART “where on standby at the scene whilst the Police had been negotiating with the man for more than three hours after he was spotted by motorists on the wrong side of the bridge's railings, over the carriageway. The road was reopened at just before 2 this morning after the man was rescued safely ©UK
