Rigid selection and the use of a pure-bred sireshould always be continued. By cross-breeding is meant the mating of two pure-bred animals ofdifferent breeds. Nothing is to be gained by such method of breeding, asit destroys the pure lines that may have been established and also has atendency to cause a greater variation.
