The Mills Cross Radio Telescope at Molonglo Observatory, east of Canberra, Australia. This instrument, which opened in 1965, is of the aperture synthesis type and uses the Earth's rotation to synthesise a larger aperture than its physical dimensions. The telescope array is steerable on one axis, as shown in this image.
