The wholesale market ^\xis somewhat relieved last week from what looked in the previous week like the approach of a big glut. While there was plenty of stock in almost everything, the mar- ket was not so congested as in the pre- ceding week. The retailers put in a busy week, judging from the large quantities of stock consumed Ity them daily. While roses were i)lentiful, the extra prime stock had the call. The price held up well in this grade, while the lower grades were jobbed off in thousand Premier, Ophelia, Co- lumbia and White Killarney met with the best demand. Fancy stock of Mi- lady was scarce. Carnations, though less plentiful than they had been, were sufficient for ihe demand. Choice Laddies rose in price, but in all other varieties from 2 io 3 cents bought splendid stock. Easter lilies and callas were in good demand and none went to waste, as in former years. A number of large weddings created a demand for valley and or- chids. Delphiniums were of fine qual- ity and the light shades sold well, sharing in the demand for snapdragons, tulips, calendulas and daisies.
