On thehighest part of the hill, towards the n. n. w., arethe remains of a square tower, and near the southernDoint are the walls of a church, standing within thefoundations of a larger and much more ancient struc-ture. The ruins of other churches are also found inthis vicinity. Near by are the remains of one of thelargest reservoirs in Palestine, measuring 314 feet inlength by 217 feet in width. The walls were builtof massive stones, and the southern wall is still bottom of this reservoir is now a grass-plot, hav-ing in it two living springs of good water.
