EAST CHINA SEA (June 21, 2012) – JS Kurama (DDH-144) steams into formation with other ships from the Navy and the Republic of Korea (ROK) Navy. The US Navy, Japan Maritime Self Defence Force and Republic of Korea Navy ships are participating in a trilateral exercise to improve interoperablility, readiness and the capability to respond quickly to various situations in the region, ranging from disaster relief to maritime security activities.
