Ferapontov monastery was found by St Ferapont. The Tent-like church of Saint Martinian (left) and the Cathedral of Nativity of the Virgin (right) are shown in this photo. All the interior walls of the Cathedral (right) are covered with frescoes by the great medieval Russian painter Dionisy (Dionisius the Wise). Ferapontov monastery have been inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
