Brig. Gen. Kenneth Hara, Hawaii National Guard deputy adjutant general and dual-status commander of Joint Task Force 5-0, meets guardsmen at a traffic control point May 18, 2018, at Leilani Estates, Pahoa, Hawaii. The guardsmen have been activated to support County of Hawaii officials in response to an ongoing volcano outbreak. More than 100 Soldiers and Airmen are joining local authorities to provide around-the-clock presence patrols in affected and traffic guidance in affected neighborhoods.
