River Gomti with ancient shrines on banks meets Indian Ocean where original golden city Dwarka of Lord Krishna was submerged.

Part of the story of holy book of Mahabharat describes that the west coast of India where the holy river River Gomti meets the sea was selected by Lord Krishna to establish His golden city called Dwarka; the city was submerged in sea by Lord Krishna after He moved north to carry on with his mission to destroy evil rulers of kingdom of Mahabharat. Remaining settlers later built the town of Dwarka and the temple of Lord Krishna near the original site from original ruins.
