With this gathering it is hoped by those interested to form a perman- ent organization of florists and gar- deners for the purpose of holding flow- er shows at different times. The para- mount purpose of the meeting is to ar- range for a rose show to be held in this city next June, with a possible strawberry show as an auxiliary. Rev. D. B. Mills of this city, a prominent clergyman, and district superintendent of the Methodist Episcopal churches, is the moving spirit in the affair and he hopes for a hearty response, not only In Syracuse but throughout Cen- tral New York. Assisting Dr. Mills is Henry Youell, who is well known to florists and gardeners all over New York State.
