It sparkles in the beautyof its verdure on the lime-stone soils of the central basinand acquires its largestgrowth in the sandy river andcreek basins of West Tennes-see. It is not only a good meadow grass but it is one of ourbest pasture grasses. Grazing indeed is almost necessary for its perpet-uation and preservation. It loves a moist soil best and on swampy placesthat are unfit for the growth of almost any other useful grass, herds grasswill thrive in the greatest vigor. PERMANENT AND ADAPTED TO EVERY SOIL—By all oddsit is the most permanent grass for all soils. Blue grass is very dainty inthe selection of its soil. Timothy must have moist and rich but not wetsoils.
