Of course, exces- sive drouth or heat will check it at any period during the summer. Mrs. Delia Briggs, North Jay, Maine, who has grown it several years, writes as follows: "The Perpetual Peas you sent me to try last summer did finely. As fast as the pods got ripe and dry I picked them off and kept doing so until the end of September when it was so cold I picked the green ones and we had a mess for dinner the last day of September. I got six quarts of nice dry Peas from the ounce of seed you sent ; It is a good-sized, wrinkled Pea of the very finest qual- ity. Under adverse conditions a small per cent, may revert back to the round form. Pkt., 20c; 3 pkts. for 50c Pop Qovn, glack Bea^ty.
