A Polish hunting hanger with an ivory hilt, circa 1720/30 Single-edged blade with a double-edged point, fullers on both sides, and etched hunting designs at the forte. Ivory quillons with acanthus leaf decoration, the finials carved as hounds heads in relief. The grip is made from a large boar's tusk(?) and is richly carved with acanthus leaves in relief. A cartouche on the obverse side displaying the monarch's (presumably August the Strong or Stanislaus I). The reverse side displays the Polish/Lithuanian coat of arms beneath a crown.
