The parade ground, Elizabeth Castle, Jersey, resplendent in the summer sun. Proudly sitting next to St Helier harbour, defending the port.

The parade ground at Elizabeth's Castle, just off the island of Jersey in the Channel Islands. Soldiers have paraded here from Napoleonic times through to World War 2 when the Germans occupied the Islands. Parades still happen today, and you can take part and become part of the cannon firing display that happens every day at lunchtime.
