Vietnam: King Thanh Thai (14 March 1879 - 24 March 1954), Nguyen emperor of Vietnam, c. 1900. Emperor Thành Thái of the Vietnamese Nguyễn Dynasty was born Prince Nguyễn Phúc Bửu Lân, son of Emperor Duc Duc. He reigned for 18 years, from 1889 to 1907. He was one of the three "patriotic emperors" in Vietnamese history, alongside Ham Nghi and Duy Tan (his son), for their actions and views against French colonial rule in Vietnam.
