Complaint was that of ])ain andswelling of the left ankle; the ])ain hadexisted one month jirior to entrance to thehospital, the swelling appeared a littlelater. The pain had come insidiously, andwas aggravated by walking and was not accompanied by a rise of Mexico until 1910. He then came toBakersfield, Cal., where he worked astrack-hand on the railroad for a short time,then came to Los Angeles, and since thattime has spent two, three or four monthseach year at Oxnard, Ventura County,. *FiG. 4.
