The capacity of the James Riveris a very variable quantity, and it was this factor that engines each of looo-hp capacity. Each engine has cylin-ders 20 in. and 40 in. x 42 in. stroke, and is direct coupledto a General Electric MP-750-kw d. c. generator. In ad-dition to these there are four other generating sets.
