ATLANTIC OCEAN (March 30, 2017) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Equipment) Airman Brent Welch, from Cobb Island, Md., conducts an operational check on a jet blast deflector on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike) during a foreign object debris (FOD) walkdown. Ike and its carrier strike group are underway conducting a sustainment exercise in support of the Optimized Fleet Response Plan (OFRP).
