Terminal lung cancer. Frontal X-ray of the chest of a 48-year-old woman with terminal lung cancer. The cancerous areas show up as patches and shadows on the normally mostly transparent lungs. These secondary cancers spread from a primary thyroid cancer. The cancer has spread to all areas of the lungs, and will be fatal as it can no longer be effectively treated.
